This year, we are hosting three events where we will learn about biodiversity values in different parts of the Waimakariri district and how we can best protect them.
The first event of our Winter Lecture Series is coming up on the 19th of July.

We have speakers Dan Cameron (Waimakariri Irrigation Limited), Monique Daulton (Ngāi Tahu), and Cameron Henderson (Waimakariri Landcare Trust) talking about how to manage indigenous biodiversity in the rural area.
On the 16th of August we will learn about the biodiversity of Lees Valley and the foothills from presenters Jean Jack (Environment Canterbury), Scott Hooson (Boffa Miskell) and Angus McIntosh (University of Canterbury).

On the 13th of September Mark Taylor (Aquatic Ecology) and Bev Alexander (Ashley-Rakahuri Rivercare Group) will discuss the biodiversity in the estuary and coastal wetlands.
