Winter Lecture Series

Join the Waimakariri Biodiversity Trust for our third and final Winter Lecture Series. We have two exciting presentations to round the series off.

Johnathon Ridden - Ecologist, Waimakariri District Council

"Invertebrates are a vital part of our ecosystem, fulfilling many important roles. A range of rare, interesting, and iconic insects, spiders and molluscs call the Waimakariri District their home. From the ocean to the mountains, different invertebrates utilise a range of habitats. This presentation will highlight several different invertebrates throughout the district. It will also emphasise where there are gaps in our knowledge and how to go about filling them."

Noah Davis - Freshwater Ecologist, Waimakariri Biodiversity Trust

"Ecological restoration grows strongest when communities lead the way. This upcoming presentation explores how community groups can turn local passion into lasting environmental change, where one inspired person sparks another, small actions gather momentum, and together those ripples become a snowball effect with powerful outcomes for our landscapes, waterways, and biodiversity."
