MainPower Waimakariri
Biodiversity Fund

​​​The Waimakariri Biodiversity Trust, with support from the Waimakariri District Council, has teamed up with MainPower to deliver the second round of the Waimakariri Biodiversity Fund.

A new contestable fund, offering up to $10,000 to support local projects that enhance biodiversity in the Waimakariri region.​

Applications will close on Friday 16 May 2025

​

Complete the online form and email it to office@wbt.org.nz before 5pm, Friday 16 May.

Robert Loughan

Robert’s project aims to enhance the biodiversity of a riparian site on his property by establishing native plantings that support water quality within the stream - the stream feeds into the Cust River.

Coopers Creek Wetland 

Annabelle and Karl's wetland enhancement project aims to increase native flora and fauna by minimising predators, eliminating grazing animals and planting native plants.

Sarah & Andreas - Ohoka Stream

​

The purpose of Sarah and Andreas restoration project is to improve native biodiversity, support carbon sequestering to mitigate climate change and restore the indigenous environment on their property.​
