O'Kair Lagoon - Lees Rd Planting Day

Where: 230 Lees Rd, Kaiapoi

Join the Waimakariri Biodiversity Trust, The Student Volunteer Army and others as we plant 1200 native plants at this unique wetland coastal property.

This planting day is great opportunity to see what landowners in our district are doing to restore native habitats on their property and to chat to us about how we can support your project.

This wetland site forms a part of the long term goal to establish multiple corridors of native vegetation across the district,  stretching from the foothills to the sea, creating a network of habitats to support native birdlife and other species. These connected ecosystems will enhance the district’s biodiversity and contribute to environmental resilience in the Waimakariri.

Morning tea will be provided.

Please bring a spade if you have one, sturdy - waterproof footwear, gloves and a water bottle.

Follow the signs at the gate for vehicle access to the site.
