Daiken Planting Day - A great success!

A huge thank you to all involved in the first planting day of the Daiken wetland restoration project and the first planting day for the Waimakariri Biodiversity Trust. A wonderful day was had by all.

Thanks to the team at Daiken for taking up the idea of a wetland restoration project on their site and for getting us involved, and for the amazing mahi of their staff on the day to ensure the planting was a great success.

A big thank you to all the students, families and teachers from Ashley Rakahuri School who put in an incredible effort towards getting the 630 plants in the ground.

Thanks so much to Siobhan from Enviroschools and Lucy and Anna from Environment Canterbury for organising fun aquatic and invertebrate learning sessions for the students and to members of the local catchment group for joining in.

We are looking forward to the next stage of this wetland project.
